I Pineapple Thief sono una band rock progressiva britannica nata nel 1999 a Yeovil per mano del cantante Bruce Soord dopo lo scioglimento dei suoi Vulgar Unicorn. Inizialmente un progetto solista, il loro primo album, "Abducting the Unicorn", è stato pubblicato nel 1999, ottenendo riconoscimento critico e una piccola ma fedele base di fan.

Nel 2002, a causa dell'entusiasmo dei fan e della crescente richiesta di concerti dal vivo, Bruce ha trasformato i Pineapple Thief in una band completa con membri come Jon Sykes, Steve Kitch, Matt O'Leary e Keith Harrison.

Hanno pubblicato vari album di successo come "Variations On A Dream" (2004), "10 Stories Down" (2005), "Little Man" (2006) e "What We Have Sown" (2007). Nel 2010, hanno lanciato "Someone Here Is Missing", che ha mostrato una maturità nella scrittura delle canzoni e ha ricevuto elogi critici. Hanno anche registrato una cover di "Money" dei Pink Floyd per una compilation tributo.

Nel 2022, i Pineapple Thief hanno pubblicato "Give It Back", un album contenente 12 nuove versioni di brani provenienti da lavori precedenti. Questa riedizione ha incluso nuove parti di batteria di Gavin Harrison e nuovi arrangiamenti, mostrando l'evoluzione della band nel tempo.
