Thomas Day è nato in una piccola fattoria nel nord di Londra. È cresciuto in una famiglia musicale, con entrambi i genitori che suonavano la chitarra e il pianoforte. All'età di sei anni ha iniziato a prendere lezioni di pianoforte e presto ha iniziato a scrivere le proprie canzoni. All'età di 15 anni aveva già scritto diverse canzoni e le eseguiva in concerti locali.
Nel 2017 Day ha pubblicato il suo EP di debutto, intitolato “Rise”, contenente cinque canzoni. La title track è stata immediatamente apprezzata dai fan sulle piattaforme di streaming e ha raggiunto in pochissimo tempo il primo posto nelle classifiche del Regno Unito. Successivamente ha pubblicato due album in studio: “Colours” (2018) e “In My Head” (2019). Ha inoltre collaborato con altri artisti come Sam Smith, Dua Lipa e Anne-Marie.
Nel 2018 Day ha vinto il BBC Music Award come miglior nuovo artista. Nel 2019 ha ricevuto una nomination ai Grammy Award per il miglior album vocale pop per il suo secondo album “In My Head”. È stato inoltre nominato per numerosi altri premi, tra cui i BRIT Awards e gli MTV Video Music Awards.
Nel 2023 Thomas Day ha pubblicato il suo ultimo album in studio intitolato “Love Me For Another Day”.
