Gli Snow Patrol sono Gary Lightbody (voce e chitarra), Nathan Connolly (chitarra), Paul Wilson (basso), Jonny Quinn (batteria) e Johnny McDaid (pianoforte e chitarra). La formazione originaria dell’Irlanda del Nord è nata nel 1994 presso la University of Dundee in Scozia. Inizialmente conosciuti come “Shrug” e “Polarbear”, gli Snow Patrol hanno esordito nella scena musicale indie rock con il disco “Songs for Polarbears” nel 1998.

Gli Snow Patrol hanno acquisito fama internazionale grazie al singolo “Chasing Cars”, parte della colonna sonora della serie televisiva “Grey’s Anatomy”. Dopo sette anni di attesa, nel maggio 2018 la band nordirlandese ha pubblicato l’album “Wildness”, contenente i brani “Don’t Give In”, “Life On Earth”, “What if This is All the Love You Ever Get?” e “Empress”.

Gli Snow Patrol hanno ricevuto consensi sia dalla stampa del settore che dal pubblico. Hanno venduto 15 milioni di copie a livello mondiale (oltre 1 miliardo di ascolti in streaming), hanno ottenuto 5 album Platino nel Regno Unito e diverse nomination ai Grammy, BRIT Awards e Mercury Music Prize.

Il frontman e cantante Gary Lightbody ha collaborato con artisti come Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Biffy Clyro e One Direction; è, inoltre, conosciuto per il suo progetto artistico, il supergroup “Tired Pony”, assieme ai membri di Belle e Sebastian e dei R.E.M.
