I Pet Shop Boys sono uno dei gruppi più di successo della storia del pop. Il duo, composto da Neil Tennant (voce) e Chris Lowe (tastierista), si è formato a Londra nel 1981.

Il duo londinese ha raggiunto la fama con il singolo West End Girls pubblicato nel 1984 e poi inserito in Please, album di debutto dei Pet Shop Boys del 1985. West End Girls ha venduto più di 1 milione e mezzo di copie in tutto il mondo raggiungendo la vetta dei singoli più venduti nel Regno Unito, Stati Uniti, Italia, Canada e Norvegia.

Nel corso della loro carriera i Pet Shop Boys hanno pubblicato quattordici album, aggiudicandosi un posto nella classifica degli artisti che hanno venduto più dischi nella storia della musica con più di 50 milioni di copie.

Tra i brani più i famosi dei Pet Shop Boys possiamo trovare Left on My Own Devices e la cover della celebre Always On My Mind di Elvis Presley pubblicate nel 1987 nell’album Introspective, It’s a Sin e Heart incluse in Actually del 1987 e So Hard tratto da Behaviour del 1990.

Nel 2021 i Pet Shop Boys sono tornati con l’EP My Beautiful Laundrette, contenente sette brani inediti ispirati dall’omonima e popolare pellicola del 1985.
