About Metallica

Metallica are the highly anticipated headlining group that will set fire to the Visarno Arena stage on the final night of Firenze Rocks on Sunday June 19 2022.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981, Metallica are James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett e Robert Trujillo. Metallica are considered part of the so-called Big Four of thrash metal, along with Slayer, Megadeth e Anthrax.

Metallica released the albums Kill 'Em All (1983), Ride the Lightning (1984), Master of Puppets (1986), ...And Justice for All (1988), Metallica (1991), Load (1996), ReLoad (1997), St. Anger (2003), Death Magnetic (2008), Lulu with Lou Reed (2011) and Hardwired... to Self-Destruct (2016).

On the WorldWired Tour, the band played live Hardwire… To Self-Destruct and other classics like Master of Puppets and Nothing Else Matters. The WorldWired Tour opening acts were Ghost e Bokassa.

Between September 2018 and May 2019, Metallica set the record for the highest number of attendees in the arenas in over 29 countries. Metallica’s sold out concert on May 8 2019 was the most attended show at Ippodromo SNAI di San Siro in Milan (47,427 attendees). Previously, in 2018, Metallica broke the record attendance at Pala Alpitour in Turin and at Unipol Arena in Bologna.

On October 9 2019, Trafalgar Releasing presented S&M2, a must-see celebration of the 20th anniversary of Metallica’s groundbreaking S&M concerts and album recorded with the San Francisco Symphony. They performed with the Symphony as legendary conductor Michael Tilson Thomas led a portion of the show, kicking off his final season in San Francisco.

Including several tracks from the original '99 S&M release as well as symphonic versions of new songs released since then, this theatrical release gave millions of fans around the world the chance to eclipse time and experience the show as a modern-day big screen concert.

During lockdown, Metallica launched a new concert series called #MetallicaMondays. Every Monday night, fans could stream a brand-new historical live concert for free on the band’s official YouTube channel and Facebook profile.
