Alessandro Mannarino was born in Rome in 1979 and began his musical journey in the early 2000s, performing on the streets, in local venues and open squares across the city. In 2006 he founded the band “Kampina,” experimenting with a unique blend of folk-pop and circus-like sounds, combining popular, ethnic and narrative influences. In 2009 he debuted as a solo artist with the album Bar della Rabbia, which immediately drew critical and public attention and was nominated among the best first albums of the year. Since then Mannarino has built a notable discography — Supersantos (2011), Al monte (2014), Apriti cielo (2017) — establishing himself as one of Italy’s most original and authentic singer-songwriters, and V (2021), a mature work that blends folk, Mediterranean and world sounds with evocative, often visionary lyrics. His music tells stories of the urban fringe — lives at the margins, dreams, love, hope and human frailty — mixing realism, poetry and a deep social awareness. His live performances are powerful experiences: raw voice, theatrical atmospheres, collective emotion — each concert becomes an immersive emotional ritual that brings the audience together.
