The comedy duo Toti e Tata, formed by Bari actor Emilio Solfrizzi and Neapolitan Antonio Stornaiolo, was born in Bari in 1985. After their theatrical experience, Toti and Tata comiciano a long television career, becoming immediately popular in Puglia and Basilicata. Their great success on local networks Telebari, Telenorba and Teledue is due to their irreverent satire. Among the duo's most famous characters are: the Duo Novembre, the poet Mino Pausa, Kiavik (Solfrizzi in the guise of an unlikely emulator of Superman), the presenter Ciro, the journalist Lino Linguetta, the singer Piero Scamarcio (supported by the “Muggler of Emotions”), the Oesàis (a Molfettese parody of the famous group Oasis). Their most successful television productions include the varieties Extra Tv, Tele Durazzo and Televiscion (memorable parody of contemporary television) and some “comedy dramas” (The Octopus, Melensa and Filomena Coza Depurada). Toti and Tata also count some appearances on national TV (Va ora in onda, Qualcuno mi può giudicare and Striscia la notizia) and on the big screen, (Fratelli coltelli in 1997 and Besame mucho in 1998 directed by Maurizio Ponzi). In 1998 the duo actually broke up and both continued their artistic careers separately. In 2005 Emilio Solfrizzi was a guest of Renzo Arbore and Antonio Stornaiolo on Speciale per me - meno siamo meglio stiamo. The duo thus returns to television after seven years (although only for one evening) and once again interprets some of the most famous characters born from the imagination of Toti and Tata and Gennaro Nunziante, the author of their texts. On the occasion of the Notte Bianca in Bari, September 29, 2007, Toti and Tata were back together on stage, sparking the joy of the more than 200,000 people in attendance. On that occasion, the comedy duo reenacted all the best sketches (Minopause, Metaphysical Marriage) that made them known in people's eyes. The fantastic pair also reintroduced themselves to the Bari audience on New Year's Eve 2008 in Bari's Piazza Prefettura, achieving extraordinary success despite the long period of separation. After the resounding reunion of the almost eponymous Manchester band, the duo decided to take the plunge by announcing a comeback in 2025.
