Grupo Compay Segundo Tickets

The Grupo Compay Segundo is the official ensemble founded in 1955 by legendary Cuban musician Francisco Repilado Muñoz, known worldwide as Compay Segundo, a symbolic figure of the sonera tradition and guardian of the island's musical memory. The band—now composed of nine musicians and led by his son Salvador Repilado Labrada—represents the authentic continuity of Compay's artistic legacy, who was able to transform Cuban popular music into universal cultural heritage, intertwining poetry, irony, and everyday peasant life. Compay Segundo was one of the protagonists of Wim Wenders' famous film Buena Vista Social Club (1999), restored in 4K in 2024 for its 25th anniversary, a work that established traditional Cuban music on a global level. The Grupo—chosen and formed by Compay himself as his “musical testament”—continues to perform on international stages, preserving the original arrangements, instruments, and performance style, interpreting iconic songs such as Chan Chan, Macusa, Sabroso, and many other classics from the Cuban repertoire.
