About
To celebrate the 800th anniversary of the writing of the Canticle of the Creatures, Angelo Branduardi's new tour comes to life:
‘IL CANTICO’ starting in March 2025. A unique event that will take the audience on a musical and spiritual journey through the life and words of Saint Francis of Assisi, an iconic figure of light, poverty, joy and poetry.
The tour is inspired by the solar and vital figure of the ‘Poor Man of Assisi’, as Branduardi himself says: ‘The life of St. Francis of Assisi is that of a man who becomes a saint... a man (and therefore a saint) who chooses the joy of life, recommends it to his disciples, loves poverty “never separated from joy”... Francis is today more than ever a saint, but he is also a great poet; he loved to sing and he often did so, even alone... I have tried to give voice to his words so that we can sing them again’. The Canticle will be an opportunity to relive the depth of the Franciscan writings and be inspired by contemporary themes that St Francis, already in his time, knew how to embody with extraordinary modernity: poverty, ecology, love of life and hospitality.
