About
Gabriele Mencacci Amalfitano grew up in the beautiful settings of Rome and Cortina D'Ampezzo. He studied philosophy and the history of religions at La Sapienza University and considers himself a singer-songwriter with a rich and unique character. As a key member of the band Joe Victor, he contributed as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, leading to the release of two albums: Blue Call Pink Riot in 2015 and Night Mistakes in 2017. His Italian music project, Amalfitano, showcases his creative vision.
His songwriting reflects a cultured mind filled with clever wordplay and humor, drawing inspiration from the finest Italian pop music while embracing the spirit of rock and roll. His songs are heartfelt expressions that capture the essence of life, celebrating Mediterranean gatherings infused with punk energy, sunny Italian summers, and late nights in piano bars, all centered around themes of love.
In 2019, he relocated to Palermo and created his first solo album, Il disco di Palermo. This lively collection explores a variety of locations—ranging from cities to beaches—filled with intriguing characters lost in their thoughts and emotions, whether surrounded by music or embraced by silence. Produced by Fabio Rizzo and Donato Di Trapani, and featuring musicians like Guglielmo Senatore and Giorgio Maria Condemi, the album was released in 2022 under Flamingo Management and published by Sugar Music Publishing. In 2023, he recorded his second album in Milan, produced by Ivan Rossi and Francesco Bianconi, set to be released in 2024.
