The Scottish songwriter endowed with an intense and moving voice became passionate about music when he was a kid and used to listen to Michael Jackson, AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Underworld, Prodigy and Muse. At 13, Walker bought his first guitar. Born in Glasgow, Walker studied songwriting at London University in London.
“Sun Goes Down” was Tom Walker’s official debut single and was followed by “Fly Away With Me” and “Play Dead” in 2016.
Tom Walker rose to fame in 2018 thanks to the ballad “Leave A Light On” he penned with Steve Mac, the producer credited with writing Ed Sheeran's “Shape Of You.” “Leave A Light On” went Platinum twice in Italy.
Tom Walker’s debut album, “What A Time To Be Alive” (2019), is made of 12 tracks, including the singles “Angels”, “My Way”, “Just You and I” (Platinum in Italy) and “Now You’re Gone” with Zara Larsson. The album title references one of Walker's most beautiful love songs, “Blessings”, and perfectly captures the album core message, optimism.
The Glasgow-native singer collaborated on Marco Mengoni's emotional single, “Hola (I Say)”. The two performed the latter at Sanremo Music Festival 2019. Tom Walker won the “Best Breakthrough Act” award at the 2019 Brit Awards, while “Leave the Light On” got nominated as “Best British Single.”
Tom Walker’s latest single is called “Better Half Of Me” and is featured on “What A Time To Be Alive (Deluxe Edition).”
