WRONGONYOU, stage name of Marco Zitelli, is a songwriter from Rome who approached folk music under the influence of Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes.
After uploading some songs on Soundcloud, WRONGONYOU was noticed by a professor of Sound Technology of the University of Oxford and by Carosello Records with which the artist released his first EP The Mountain Man in 2016 and his debut album Rebirth in 2018.
Milano Parla Piano, put out on October 2019, is the first album in Italian of WRONGONYOU. The challenge to sing in his mother tongue was born from his desire to tell stories and emotions without the filter of English. Even with songs in Italian, the international sound and the peculiar pitch of WRONGONYOU are still present. The album includes the songs Mi Sbaglio Un Po’ and Solo Noi Due, written with Zibba and produced by Katoo.
WRONGONYOU performed in the most important international festivals such as the South by Southwest Festival in Austin (Texas), Europa Vox in France, Eurosonic Noorderslag in Holland, Primavera Sound in Spain and Home Festival in Italy. His songs were also included in the soundtracks of films and TV series such as Baby, the Netflix original TV series, and Premio by Alessandro Gassman.
In 2020 WRONGONYOU took part in the Sanremo Music Festival for the new proposal section with the song Lezioni di Volo which won the Premio della Critica Mia Martini. Lezioni di Volo preceded Sono Io, third album of the songwriter from Rome, with more than 4 million streams on Spotify.
