I Wilco, una delle band più influenti degli ultimi decenni, sono stati fondati a Chicago nel 1994 da Jeff Tweedy, ex frontman degli Uncle Tupelo. Attualmente, i Wilco sono composti da Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Nels Cline, Glenn Kotche, Patrick Sansone e Mikael Jorgensen.

Nel 2005, i Wilco hanno ottenuto due Grammy Awards nelle categorie “Miglior Album di Musica Alternativa” e “Miglior Recording Package” per il loro quinto album in studio “A Ghost Is Born”.

Il decimo disco della band di Chicago, “Schmilco”, è uscito nel 2016 ed è il seguito di “Star Wars”, album che i Wilco hanno rilasciato a sorpresa e gratuitamente per i propri fan.

Pitchfork ha descritto il disco come “prettamente acustico, caratterizzato da melodie dolci, da una produzione autunnale e dominata da ricordi infantili e nostalgici”.

La band ha pubblicato due video contenenti una session live di If Ever I Was A Child e Normal American Kids, registrati a Utrecht durante il tour europeo nel novembre del 2016.

Nel 2018, il frontman Jeff Tweedy ha pubblicato di recente il suo secondo disco solista, “Warm”, che ha ottenuto grandi consensi ed è stato seguito da “Warmer” nel 2019.
