About
Walter Trout is an American guitarist and songwriter born on 6 March 1951 in Ocean City, New Jersey. His musical career was shaped by an early passion for blues and rock music. Growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, Trout found inspiration in legendary artists such as BB King, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton.
In the 1980s, Trout began to gain a reputation as a talented guitarist through his performances with John Mayall's band, the legendary Bluesbreakers. He spent several years with the band, honing his unique style and consolidating his position in the blues and rock scene.
Throughout his career, Walter Trout has released numerous solo albums, demonstrating his ability as a versatile songwriter and musician. His songs often reflect the personal experiences and challenges he has faced, including a liver transplant in 2014, which he documented on his album ‘Battle Scars’.
With his powerful guitar style and scratchy voice, Trout continues to enchant audiences around the world with his energy-laden live performances and his authenticity in conveying the soul of the blues. His dedication to music and personal resilience make him an admired figure in the international music community.
