Tigran Hamasyan is an Armenian pianist and composer.
Hamasyan has created a unique musical style that draws from jazz, Armenian folk music and other musical genres. His music is distinguished by his distinctive use of rhythm, tremendous technical skill, and melodic sensitivity.
Renowned for his ability to combine improvised elements with sophisticated compositional structures Hamasyan has released several albums throughout his career-World Passion (2006), Red Hail (2009), A Fable (2011) An Ancient Observer (2017) and The Call Within(2020), StandArt (2022). Tigran Hamasyan has received numerous awards for his music, including the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition in 2006.
He is considered one of the most innovative and interesting jazz pianists of his generation and continues to influence the music scene with his creativity and originality.
