About

The Weeknd shows previously scheduled for October 31 2022 and for November 1 2022 at Mediolanum Forum in Assago (Milan) have been cancelled. For further information, please READ HERE

Canadian by birth and Ethiopian by origin, The Weeknd started writing for other singers, including the rapper Drake, at 17 years old. Abel Makkonen Tesfaye's stage name was originally supposed to be The Weekend, but this had already been taken by a Canadian band.

In 2010, The Weeknd uploaded the tracks What You Need and Loft Music on YouTube. After writing some songs for Drake's Take Care album, Abel founded the label XO and released 3 mixtapes House Of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes Of Silence. The latter contains a cover of Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana, one of Abel's idols. In 2012, The Weeknd debuted live in the United States at Coachella.

The Weeknd's debut album Kiss Land was released in 2013, but Abel became an international popstar in 2016 with Beauty Behind The Madness (more than 3 million copies sold) and, in particular, the hit single Can't Feel My Face. Earned It, the Grammy-winning Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack, was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2016.

The Starboy third studio album features collaborations with Daft Punk and Kendrick Lamar. The album title references David Bowie’s Starman. The Weeknd has collaborated with Lana Del Rey, NAV, Gucci Mane, French Montana and Kendrick Lamar on the song Pray For Me from the soundtrack of the Marvel movie Black Panther.

The Weeknd's new album, After Hours, was released on March 20, 2020, and was preceded by lead single Blinding Lights, which holds the record for most weeks in the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The other After Hours singles are Heartless, In Your Eyes and Save Your Tears.

Are you blinded by The Weeknd’s talent? Don’t miss him live!
