Con i primi album Rattus Norvegicus, No More Heroes e Black and White, i The Stranglers conquistano in poco tempo il pubblico grazie agli inni punk Something Better Change, No More Heroes e Peaches. La band punk rock ha, inoltre, aperto i tour inglesi dei Ramones e di Patti Smith.

Optando per un sound più melodico e meno aggressivo nelle opere discografiche successive, i The Stranglers hanno inciso 17 album in studio in una carriera di oltre 50 anni.

I The Stranglers daranno presto alle stampe un nuovo album per ricordare Dave Greenfield, mancato nel maggio scorso a causa di complicazioni derivate dal COVID-19.
