About
After the success of Everything Harmony, praised by artists like Questlove, Iggy Pop, and Anthony Fantano, the New York band The Lemon Twigs, led by brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario, has once again captured the attention of the music public. Despite their young age (24 and 26 years), the brothers already have extensive musical experience, having recorded their first album, Do Hollywood, nearly ten years ago.
Their new album, A Dream Is All We Know, marks a return to the sounds of 1968, with a modern touch and greater maturity in songwriting and production. This album, brighter than the previous ones, combines elements of Merseybeat, Beach Boys harmony, and Bubblegum, creating a sound that the brothers describe as "Merseybeach." The lead single, My Golden Years, expresses the urgency of capturing the "golden years" that seem to be slipping away, while tracks like They Don’t Know How To Fall In Place and Church Bells explore new sounds and complex arrangements.
The album, recorded entirely analog in their Brooklyn studio, features the brothers swapping instruments and includes collaborations such as with Sean Ono Lennon. The Lemon Twigs continue to impress with their ability to combine vintage recording techniques with progressive ideas, confirming themselves as heirs to a rock tradition that continuously evolves. The album concludes with Rock On (Over and Over), a tribute to rock and roll that highlights their attention to detail and innate talent.
