Dopo il successo di Everything Harmony, apprezzato da artisti come Questlove, Iggy Pop e Anthony Fantano, la band di New York The Lemon Twigs, composta dai fratelli Brian e Michael D’Addario, ha riconquistato l’attenzione del pubblico musicale. Nonostante la giovane età (24 e 26 anni), i fratelli hanno già una lunga esperienza musicale, avendo registrato il loro primo album Do Hollywood quasi dieci anni fa.

Il loro nuovo album, A Dream Is All We Know, rappresenta un ritorno alle sonorità del 1968, con un tocco moderno e una maggiore maturità nella scrittura e produzione. Questo album, più luminoso rispetto ai precedenti, unisce elementi del Merseybeat, dell’armonia dei Beach Boys e del Bubblegum, creando un suono che i fratelli definiscono "Merseybeach". Il singolo principale, My Golden Years, esprime l'urgenza di catturare i "golden years" che sembrano sfuggire, mentre brani come They Don’t Know How To Fall In Place e Church Bells esplorano nuove sonorità e arrangiamenti complessi.

L’album, registrato interamente in analogico nel loro studio a Brooklyn, vede i fratelli alternarsi agli strumenti e include collaborazioni come quella con Sean Ono Lennon. I Lemon Twigs continuano a sorprendere con la loro capacità di combinare tecniche di registrazione vintage con idee progressive, confermandosi eredi di una tradizione rock che evolve continuamente. Il disco si conclude con Rock On (Over and Over), un omaggio al rock and roll che sottolinea la loro attenzione ai dettagli e il loro talento innato.
