The Killers are a Las Vegas-native rock band founded in 2001 by the frontman Brandon Flowers and the guitarist Dave Keuning. The Killers, who have drawn inspiration from 80s new wave music, were the first band ever to have 5 albums on the Top 5 of the UK album charts during their release week. The Killers have sold more than 15 million copies all over the world.
After receiving 5 Grammy nominations for their debut album Hot Fuss (2004), The Killers embarked on their first world tour, performing on the most important stages such as Glastonbury Festival and Live 8 in London and opening for U2 on the Vertigo European Tour in 2005.
Preceded by the single When You Were Young, The Killers’ second studio album Sam's Town (2006) won the Best International Album award at the Brit Awards 2007.
The best-of album Direct Hits came out after Day & Age and Battle Born and features the hits Mr. Brightside, Somebody Told me and Human. Three years after Wonderful Wonderful (2017), the Glastonbury Festival 2019 headliners put out out their brand-new album Imploding The Mirage in August 2020.
In 2021 The Killers returned with the album Pressure Machine, a concept based on Brandon Flowers’ childhood in Utah. Pressure Machine, which ranked in the Album Top 10 in Austria, Belgium, Germany and UK, includes the songs West Hills, Quiet Town and Runaway Horses featuring Phoebe Brigdgers.
