Born in Cambridgeshire, England, Sam Smith studied singing and songwriting during adolescence under the guidance of jazz singer Joanna Eden. The big break came at just 20 years old, when Sam had the opportunity to collaborate with the British electronic duo Disclosure in their hit Latch, which entered the UK Top 10 and was omnipresent in clubs around the world. Sam Smith’s unique voice in the song made him instantly recognizable to the audience.

Shortly after, Sam Smith made his solo debut in 2014 with the album In The Lonely Hour, which features world-famous singles such as Lay Me Down, Money On My Mind, Stay With Me and I’m Not The Only. Sam Smith’s debut album sold 12 million copies worldwide and allowed the artist to win awards for the categories Record of The Year and Song of the Year for Stay With Me, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist at the 2015 Grammy Awards.

In the same year Sam Smith won the Academy Award for Best Original Song by playing Writing’s On The Wall, the main song of the 24th James Bond film, Spectre.

Sam Smith released in 2017 The Thrill Of It All, the second album by the artist, anticipated by the single Too Good At Goodbyes and which included One Last Song, and in 2020 returned with the third one, Love Goes, which included How Do You Sleep? and where Sam has collaborated with artists like Burna Boy, Labirinth, Normani, Demi Lovato and Calvin Harris.

Sam Smith has announced that his upcoming album, GLORIA, will be released on 27 January 2023. The album has been anticipated by the singles Love Me More and Unholy with Kim Petras.
