About
All about Rkomi
Rkomi, stage name of Mirko Martorana, is an Italian rapper and singer. Born in 1994, he grew up in the popular district of Calvairate, in Milan, where he came into contact with rap for the first time. Curious and intellectually greedy since he was a child, he is noticed for the first time in 2016 with the EP Dasein Sollen, inspired by the ontology of the philosopher Heidegger. Along with artists like Sfera Ebbasta, Tedua, Ernia and Izi was part of the so-called "generation 2016": a group of friends who, literally starting from the street, within a few years managed to bring Italian rap to the top of all charts.
The eternal thirst for research led him to explore many other musical genres, working in the studio with leading instrumentalists and undertaking a rigorous study of the music played. The result are highly acclaimed albums such as Io In Terra (2017, 1x platinum), Dove Gli Occhi Non Arrivano (2019, 2x platinum) and especially TAXI DRIVER (2021, 8x platinum, 30x platinum and 3x gold for singles), an unprecedented success, which becomes the best-selling album of the year. After participating in Sanremo 2022 with INSUPERABILE and the long tour that led him to perform in front of tens of thousands of spectators all over Italy, in 2023 Rkomi took a break to then dedicate himself to a side project with Irama, NO STRESS: an album, varied and experimental, deliberately conceived from the title to escape the mechanisms of fame at all costs and the dictatorship of numbers.
In 2025 Rkomi returned to the Sanremo Music Festival with the song the rhythm of things. that turned out to be one of the most loved songs by the audience: stably in the top 10 on streaming platforms, conquered by a deep, poetic and unforgettable refrain: "Quante cose distruggiamo costruendo, è un violento decrescendo".
On May 23, 2025 Rkomi released his fourth album entitled Decrescendo. The album, consisting of 18 tracks, contains collaborations with important artists on the Italian scene such as Bresh, Ernia, Izi, Lazza, Nayt, and Tedua.
