Mahmood, whose full name is Alessandro Mahmoud, was born on 12 September 1992 in Milan, Italy, to parents of Egyptian and Sicilian origin. He is an Italian singer, songwriter and musician known for his music that mixes pop, R&B and rap influences with lyrics that reflect his personal experiences and social aspects.

He gained popularity in 2019 after winning the Sanremo Music Festival with the song “Soldi”, which was a commercial success in Italy and abroad. Subsequently, he represented Italy at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, where he placed second, gaining international recognition. His relationship with the Sanremo Festival was strengthened with his participation in 2022 with the single “Brividi” in collaboration with BLANCO and his latest participation with the song “Tuta Gold”.
