About

Stu Mackenzie, Joe Walker, Eric Moore, Ambrose Kenny-Smith, Lucas Skinner, Cook Craig and Michael Cavanagh shake up the psychedelic sound a là Frank Zappa using three guitars and a distorted harmonica. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s lyrics aim to let off steam and deliver drive and energy.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are one of the most prolific on the planet: they have released 23 albums in just 11 years, of which 5 just this year, becoming an international promise of psychedelic rock.

The ARIA-winning record Nonagon Infinity (2016) was the first King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard’s album to be released internationally. The relentless psychedelic rock band put out 5 albums in 2017: Flying Microtonal Banana, Murder of the Universe, Sketches of Brunswick East, Polygondwanaland and Gumboot Soup.

In 2019, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard released the albums Fishing for Fishies and Infest the Rats' Nest. In November 2020 they released K.G. - Explorations into Microtonal Tuning, Volume 2. In 2021 the band released two albums: L.W. - Explorations into Microtonal Tuning, Volume 3 and Butterfly 3000.

This year the band decider to replicate the effort of 2017: releasing 5 studio albums in just one year. So, after Made In Timeland and Omnium Gatherum, they released Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms And Lava, 7 October, and have two projects set to be released: Laminated Denim on 12 October and Changes on 28 October. Ice V and Iron Lung are the first singles shared.

The group led by Stu Mackienze mixes garage, freak folk, prog, surf, jazz fusion and heavy metal. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s live shows are explosive and energetic, drawing comparison to Tame Impala’s and Flaming Lips’ own gigs.
