Stu Mackenzie, Joe Walker, Eric Moore, Ambrose Kenny-Smith, Lucas Skinner, Cook Craig e Michael Cavanagh sono una band psychedelic rock australiana nata nel 2010. I King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard sovvertono il linguaggio psichedelico come Frank Zappa, utilizzando tre chitarre, un’armonica distorta, ritmi incalzanti e destrutturanti. I testi dei King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard comunicano rabbia, grinta e tanto rock and roll.

I King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard sono una delle band più prolifiche del pianeta: la band vanta una produzione più che prolifica con ben 23 album pubblicati in solo 11 anni, di cui cinque solo quest’anno, divenendo così da cult band a promessa mondiale del rock psichedelico.

Nonagon Infinity, che ha vinto il premio ARIA come Miglior Album Hard Rock nel 2016, è stato il primo album dei King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard a essere pubblicato in tutto il mondo. Il 2017 è stato un anno senza sosta per i King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, che hanno inciso ben 5 album: Flying Microtonal Banana, Murder of the Universe, Sketches of Brunswick East, Polygondwanaland e Gumboot Soup.

Nel 2019, il gruppo rock psichedelico capitanato da Stu Mackienze ha rilasciato gli album in studio Fishing for Fishies e Infest the Rats' Nest. A novembre 2020 esce K.G. - Explorations into Microtonal Tuning, Volume 2. Nel 2021 la band pubblica due album: L.W. - Explorations into Microtonal Tuning, Volume 3 e Butterfly 3000.

Quest’anno la band ha deciso di replicare la fatica del 2017: pubblicare ben cinque album in studio in solo un anno. Ed ecco che, dopo Made In Timeland e Omnium Gatherum, arrivano anche Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms And Lava, pubblicato il 7 ottobre, Laminated Denim, in uscita il 12 ottobre e Changes in uscita il 28 ottobre. Ice V e Iron Lung sono i primi singoli condivisi.

Il sound dei King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard mescola garage, freak folk, prog, surf, jazz fusion e heavy metal. Osannati dalla critica, i loro concerti sono esplosivi e frenetici, spesso paragonati alle performance dei Tame Impala e dei Flaming Lips.
