A multi-instrumentalist and composer, Kamasi has distinguished himself worldwide. His spirit is the home of a perfect blend of avant-garde style, talent, reworking and innovation that have made his albums among the most acclaimed of this century.

2020 was the year he became co-founder of Dinner Party in which he collaborated with longtime friends such as Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, and 9th Wonder: their EP Dinner Party: Dessert was later nominated for a GRAMMY for best progressive R&B album. An incredible rise that has seen him share stages around the world with such giants of the international music scene as Kendrick Lamar, Florence + The Machine, Herbie Hancock and many others.

Not only a leading figure in music, but in his career he has also dressed the role of director with As Told To G/D Thyself, a short film in which songs from Heaven and Earth, his 2018 album, took shape, which debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival to wide acclaim.

Kamasi Washington released her latest album, Fearless Movement, inspired by dance and the birth of hir first child on 3 May 2024.
