Biografia dei Foo Fighters

Formatisi a Seattle, Washington nel 1994, i Foo Fighters sono composti dall’ex batterista dei Nirvana Dave Grohl (voce e chitarra), Nate Mendel (basso), Chris Shiflett (chitarra), Pat Smear (chitarra) e Rami Jaffee (tastiera). Nel corso della loro venticinquennale carriera, i Foo Fighters hanno vinto 12 Grammy Awards e venduto milioni di copie in tutto il mondo.

I Foo Fighters hanno debuttato nel 1995 con l’omonimo album, seguito da Foo Fighters (1995), The Colour and the Shape (1997), There Is Nothing Left To Lose (1999), One By One (2002), In Your Honor (2005), Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace (2007), Wasting Light (2011), Sonic Highways (2014), Concrete and Gold (2017) e Medicine At Midnight (2021). 

Sonic Highways è la colonna sonora della serie documentario HBO omonima, diretta dal frontman Dave Grohl e vincitrice di due Emmy Awards.

L’ultimo lavoro dei Foo Fighters è l’EP Hail Satin, pubblicato con lo pseudonimo di Dee Gees nel 2021, contenente la versione dal vivo di brani tratti da Medicine At Midnight e cover di brani celebri dei Bee Gees rappresentativi della disco music.

Dal 2021 i Foo Fighters fanno parte della Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Nel 2022 i Foo Fighters sono sbarcati anche sul grande schermo recitando nella commedia horror Studio 666. Oltre ai membri della band, il film include anche le guest star Lionel Richie, Jeffrey Garlin, Kerry King degli Slayer e Jenna Ortega.
