About
The Death Cab for Cutie concert scheduled for March 1 2023 at Fabrique in Milan has been cancelled. For further information, please READ HERE
Death Cab for Cutie is and American alternative rock band.
Born as a solo project by the leader Ben Gibbard, who released the first demo, You Can Play These Songs With Chords, it eventually evolved in the creation of a band, currently composed of Ben Gibbard (vocals, guitar, piano), Nick Harmer (bass), Jason McGerr (drums) Dave Depper (guitar, keyboards) and Zac Rae (keyboards, guitar).
Death Cab for Cutie’s style is characterized by the use of unconventional instruments and by Ben Gibbard’s particular vocal style.
With the first two albums, Something About Airplanes (1998) and We Have the Facts And We're Voting Yes(2000), Death Cab for Cutie started making a name for the band in the indie world, and the first achievements came with The Photo Album (2001). Death Cab for Cutie became famous in 2003 with Transatlanticism, that consecrates the band as an indie rock icon. Some songs from Transatlanticism are featured in the soundtracks of famous movies and TV series, such as Wedding Crashers, The O.C., Californication, Six Feet Under, CSI Miami and more.
Death Cab for Cutie then released Plans (2005), Narrow Stairs (2008), Codes and Keys (2011) and Kintsugi (2015).
In addition to the albums, Death Cab for Cutie released a series of EP over the years: The Forbidden Love (2000), The Stability (2002), Studio X Sessions (2004), The John Byrd (2005), Crooked Teeth (2006), The Open Door (2009), The Blue (2019) and The Georgia (2021).
Thank You for Today, their last official album, was released in 2018, but Death Cab for Cutie are ready to come back with their new album Asphalt Meadows, on 16 September.
Don’t miss live one of the most iconic rock bands in the world!
