David Murray Tickets

The David Murray Trio was founded by the saxophonist together with Brad Jones (double bass) and Hamid Drake (drums).

David Murray, born in 1955, was born and raised in California where he had the chance to study music important teachers like Bobby Bradford, Arthur Blythe and Stanley Crouch. Murray achieved fame in 1975 when he moved to New York where, thanks to Dewey Redman, he collaborate with important artists such as Don Cherry, Lester Bowie e Sunny Murray.

Throughout his career Murray has founded the famous World Saxophone Quartet with Lake, Bluiett and Hemphil besides releasing song and collaborating with the best jazz musicians of the world. David Murray’s styles varies from free jazz to modern jazz passing by world music. The musician has also won two Grammy Awards for his tribute to John Coltrane of 1989 and Jazzpar of 1991.
