Castello Festival, the festival established at the initiative of the Culture Department of the City of Padua Sectors Culture, Tourism, Museums and Biblioteche UOC Manifestazioni e Spettacoli, camr back for its 2021 edition at Arena Live Geox in Padua from July 13 to September 17.
The Castello Festival 2021 lineup included Noa, Antonella Ruggiero, Fabio Concato, Paolo Fresu, Sergio Cammariere, Alessio Boni, Nick The Nightfly, Roy Paci, John Patitucci, Danilo Rea, Luciana Savignano, Massimo Cacciari and the Italian rappers Ernia and Rkomi.
Castello Carrarese is one of the most important historical, architectural, artistic and military heritage sites of Padua and is a defensive castle built by order of Ezzelino III da Romano, the tyrant of the city from 1237 to 1256. The Carrarese Castle is currently being restored to be turned into a design museum of international importance.
Under the artistic direction of Maurizio Camardi, Castello Festival 2019 organized many great events including concerts, theatrical performances, cabaret and literary readings with some of the most important musicians and actors of the Italian and international scene.
The Castello Festival 2019 headliners were PFM, Raul Cremona, Paolo Fresu, Giancarlo Giannini, Frankie Hi-Nrg Mc, Tarantolati di Tricarico, the musical stars Giò Di Tonno, Vittorio Matteucci and Graziano Galatone, the Irish band Goitse, Enzo Avitabile, Alessio Boni and Marcello Prayer.
