About
Calexico, the main exponents of the alternative country in the world, will be back in Milan for an unmissable show on April 27, 2022 at Alcatraz in Milan.
Calexico were born in Tucson, Arixona, in 1995 and consists of the ex-members of Giant Sand Joey Burns (voice and guitar) and John Convertino (drums). The band debuted in 1996 with the album Spoke, a cult for the fans of the genre, and achieved fame in 1998 with The Black Light included by the music magazine Il Mucchio in the list of the 100 most important albums of country rock.
Throughout their career Calexico released seventeen albums among we can recall the famous songs Alone Again Or included in the EP Convict Pool of 2004, He Lays in The Rains taken off the eponymous album of 2005, Cumbia de Donde from Edge of the Sun of 2015 and Follow The Water featuring Iron & Wine included in the album Years to Burn of 2019.
Calexico collaborated to the creation of soundtracks for movies, including Man’s Shoes of 2004 and I’m Not Here, the biography movie about Bob Dylan’s life, featuring the famous Goin’ To Acapulco with more than 5 million streams on Spotify.
