All about Björk
Björk is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and activist.
Known as a musician since the eighties at home, Björk moved to London in the nineties, where she acquired international notoriety beginning its parable of artist in continuous evolution and the continuous musical and vocal research that has led her to be recognized as the link between the pop artist and the avant-garde artist. With remarkable vocal abilities, Björk is famous for her largely eclectic musical style, including different genres such as alternative rock, folk, jazz, trip hop, techno, electronic music, classical, experimental, minimalist and avant-garde, as well as for the particular stage attire, the original and discussed music videos and her personality.
Bjork began his musical career at a very young age, composing his first album, the eponymous Björk, at the age of eleven. Over time she has been part of various groups, including The Sugarcubes, and has collaborated with various artists. Throughout her career Björk has released 11 solo albums: Björk in 1977, Debut in 1993, Post in 1995, Homogenic in 1997, Vespertine in 2001, Medúlla in 2004, Volta in 2007, Biophilia in 2011, Vulnicura in 2015, Utopia in 2017 and the latest one, Fossora, released on 30 September 2022.
Rolling Stone magazine ranked it 60th on the list of the 100 best singers ever. Björk has sold over forty million records worldwide and has won 138 awards, including five BRIT Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, three UK Music Video Awards and an Italian Music Award. She has also been nominated for fifteen Grammy Awards, one Oscar, and two Golden Globes. In 2000, she won the Palme d'Or and the Best Actress Award at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival for her performance in Dancer in the Dark.
Björk will perform Tuesday 12 September 2023 at Mediolanum Forum of Assago and Saturday 23 September 2023 at l’Unipol Arena of Casalecchio di Reno.
