About
The Barezzi Festival was born in 2007 with the intention of promoting and spreading quality music, inspired by Antonio Barezzi, lord of Busseto, the one thanks to whom Giuseppe Verdi was able to study and become the great Master who was. The concept of patronage is, in fact, at the origin of the conception of the festival, as well as the passion for opera and classical music in general. The combination of classic and contemporary is one of the cornerstones of the Barezzi Festival, which also passes through the use of "sacred" places of music, such as classical theaters, for performances and concerts of music with- temporary and light. During its eight editions, the festival has successfully confirmed its formula, characterized by quality, research, variety, internationality of the proposal and ability to attract diverse audiences. The guest artists are, at each edition, some of the absolute protagonists of the music scene, Italian and international, references in their respective fields.
The combination of the innovative drive of new generations of musicians, together with the rigor and spirituality of classical music, has given rise to a musical production of the highest quality. In fourteen years, it has hosted hundreds of international artists: Franco Battiato, Wim Mertens, Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, Clap Clap, Philip Glass, Harbie Hancock right, Stefano Bollani, Rufus Wainwine, Gary Lucas, Ulver, Benjamin Clementine, The Wisnott, Brian Auger, Fred Wesley, Enrico Rava, Morton Subotnick, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Michael Kiwanuka, Anna Calvi, Paolo Conte, Echo and the Bunnymen, Calexico, Nils Frahm, Marlene Kuntz, Margherita Vicario.
