Cork-based alternative artist Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) are shattering gender and socio-political stereotypes to create an era-defining sound that borders on elements of pop, rock, electronica and more. Self-described with the term “Ouija-pop” to describe the sound, Bambie Thug has been making waves over the past two years with a series of genre-defying singles and a critically acclaimed EP, “CATHEXIS.”

Bambie Thug represented Ireland at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with the enchanting song “Doomsday Blue,” finishing in sixth place-the highest placing for an Irish artist in 24 years. The song is about the feeling of having one's potential overlooked and is an ode to the queer community. Sonically, the track transports listeners from alt-witch verses to killer screams, pop refrains, a jazzy middle eight, before culminating in a metallic roar of electronic, heavy guitars. The track perfectly showcases Bambie Thug's diverse facets as an artist. With visual artistry as striking as their musical breath, their witchy aesthetic and heavily cinematic videos has seen them transform into otherworldly characters like “HIM” from Powerpuff Girls and a vampire bride.
