About
Bakar, stage name of Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr is a London-based singer and producer with a chameleon-like style. It is indeed difficult to label Bakar under a specific genre; his music is a melting pot of indie, rap, rock and punk and this is something the artist is extremely proud of.
Growing up, Bakar was a fan of hip-hop music, but at the age of 14 he encountered indie music, an eye-opening experience. From that day, Bakar realized that his creativity was much bigger than just one genre of music.
He made his music debut in May 2018 with the mixtape Badkid. In August 2019, Bakar announced the release of the EP Will You Be My Yellow? containing the single Hell n Back which placed No. 62 on Triple J's Hottest 100 chart of 2019. Hell n Backwas the song used in the teaser trailer for the upcoming Pixar movie Elemental.
