Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, better known as Alok, is a Brazilian DJ and producer born on August 26, 1991 in Goiânia, Goiás state, Brazil.
Alok grew up in a family of musicians and began his musical career at only 10 years old, playing drums in his father’s band. In 2004, together with his brother Bhaskar, he formed the musical project Lógica which performed in several clubs and festivals in Brazil.
In 2010 Alok decided to pursue a career as a DJ and producer and began producing music and playing in Brazilian clubs. In 2014 she achieved her first major international success with the song We Are Underground, followed by other hits such as Me & You and Hear Me Now.
In 2017, Alok reached the 19th place in the list of the best DJs in the world compiled by DJ Mag, becoming the first Brazilian DJ to enter the top 20. In 2018, he reached number 13 on the same chart, becoming the best-placed Brazilian DJ.
Alok has collaborated with many successful artists such as Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren and Luan Santana, and has played at some of the most important festivals in the world, such as the Tomorrowland in Belgium and the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
