Among the most appreciated artists and authors of contemporary music, Alanis Morissette released the studio albums Alanis (1991), Now Is the Time (1992), Jagged Little Pill (1995), Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998), Under Rug Swept (2002), So-Called Chaos (2004), Flavors of Entanglement (2008) and Havoc and Bright Lights (2012). Morissette has also written movie soundtracks, acted in film and television and is also known for her activism and for being a feminist.
In 2016, Alanis Morissette produced the monthly podcast “Conversation with Alanis Morissette”, discussing themes such as art, spirituality and psychophysical wellbeing in interviews and conversations with doctors, educators and therapists.
On July, 31 2020, the Canadian songstress is realising her brand new album Such Pretty Forks In The Road. The first official single is called Smiling and was written by Alanis and Michael Farrell (Morrissey, Macy Gray) and produced by Alex Hope (Troye Sivan, Ben Platt, Tove Lo). Smiling was originally written for Broadway Jagged Little Pill: The Musical, the musical that debuted at Broadhurst Theatre in New York on December, 5 2019. The musical version of Smiling is sung by Elizabeth Stanley.
